History Of The Coffee Maker

The first coffee percolator was created in 1818; however the coffee makers date all the way back in history in 575 A.D. The first coffee pot was called the “cowboy pot” because so many cowboys used to use it before they began working on their land.

By the year 1835 to 1850 coffee makers began to become very popular among everyone. People learned that they could drink coffee and were able to access; pressure steamers, grinders, and roasters.

In 1890 the Manning-Bowman Percolator became known to the United States. The Manning-Bowman Percolators were fabricated with a linen cloth that required the user to clean up after each and every use.

In 1972 Mr. Coffee became such a huge hit and it seems that the automatic drip coffee maker took off. It seems that everyone was able to own one; since they were not very expensive.

In todays society Mr. Coffee is still one of the largest manufacturers of coffee makers. However there are so many other popular brands that enable anyone to enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Heck if you are the only one who drinks coffee in your household; you can even get a single cup coffee maker.

It seems as though everyone begins their day with a dose of caffeine. No matter what the history of the coffee maker is; the fact is that it is here to stay. You can now enjoy any flavor of coffee that you want regardless of what time of day it is.

Of course today it requires more research to decide what type of maker you want. I have personally been using Braun and I absolutely love the simplicity of how quickly it brews a pot. I have had a Mr. Coffee in the past; however I decided to upgrade to a Braun because of the bigger reservoir. I always recommend the Braun to any of my friends who are looking to purchase a new one; because of how great mine has been.
