Best Coffee History Stories
Believe it or not the history of coffee is extremely popular. It seems that coffee loves generally want to know where their morning coffee came from. I searched the internet and found some of the best coffee history stories. I would like to share some of them with you; hopefully you will enjoy them while you drink your morning cup of coffee.
One of the best coffee history stories of about a sheep herder named Kaldi who was from Caffa Ethopia. He noticed that when his sheep ate the red “cherries” they became extremely active; they began running around as though they were babies and were full of energy and could not be stopped. He kept watch on a daily basis while they continued to act this way every time they ate the cherries.
One day he decided that it could not cause him harm and he wanted to see if the “red” cherries would provide him with the same type of energy they have been giving the sheep. He discovered that they gave him the same amount of energy; he felt as though he could accomplish anything. He continued eating the cherries until one day a month scolded Kaldi for eating the “devil’s” fruit.
Eventually Kaldi was able to convince the monk that they provided energy and would help the monk stay awake so that he could pray longer. Soon the “red” cherries became extremely popular and they were all eating them.

Another history of coffee story comes from an Arabian named Omar. He was sent to desert and banished to remain there until he died of starvation; and his followers were banished as well. Of course being in the desert there is nothing to eat and everyone assumed that it would not take long for him to die.
Omar wanted to prevent him and his followers from starving so he ordered them to boil some of the fruit from the plants that they found in the desert. This fruit was the reason that they did not starve to death and they considered the fruit a gift from God. The residents found out about this miracle fruit and they began boiling it and eating it; eventually it became a beverage that we know today as Mocha.
